Ashley Borody was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, and raised in Quesnel, where her lifelong passion for music first took shape. Growing up in a musically rich environment, Ashley discovered her voice in the local church and quickly developed a deep love for performing. Encouraged by her elementary and high school music teachers, she began exploring her natural vocal ability and musical creativity at an early age.
Music runs deep in Ashley’s family. Her grandfather, a talented saxophone and piano player who performed on cruise ships, and her grandmother, a bass player, helped inspire her early musical journey. Surrounded by these influences, Ashley developed a strong appreciation for many styles of music while learning to play both guitar and piano.
As a teenager and young adult, Ashley began performing throughout British Columbia as a busker, honing her craft on the streets and at local coffee houses and events. Her soulful voice and natural stage presence quickly gained attention in the local music scene. Determined to push herself further, she auditioned for both Canadian Idol and Canada’s Got Talent during the years the shows were running, showcasing her powerful vocals and fearless dedication to her dream.
Ashley’s professional career expanded when she joined the band Shockwave, where she had the opportunity to open for well-known Canadian artists including The Northern Pikes and George Canyon. These performances helped shape her stage presence and experience performing for large audiences.
She later became part of the Borody Anthony Band, where the group recorded their own original album before eventually pursuing different musical paths.
Alongside her husband and pianist Dylan Borody, Ashley also performed as a duo at venues such as Mabel Hill Farm Kitchen & Marketplace, as well as at weddings and private events across British Columbia. Throughout her career, she has remained deeply connected to her community, regularly performing the Canadian national anthem at hockey games since her teenage years.
Today, Ashley brings her passion and powerhouse vocals to the stage with “Ashley Borody – The Ultimate Tribute to Adele.” Backed by an exceptional band featuring award-winning Canadian musicians and a stunning string section, the show recreates the emotion, elegance, and vocal power that made Adele one of the most celebrated artists in the world.
